Our Telematics deployment is well underway. As of March, 2026, 5479 fleet vehicles have telematics installed. While the initial deployment was completed in 2025, rolling installations of new vehicles and the replacement of non-communicating equipment is ongoing. DPA and State Fleet Management worked with the Attorney General’s Office and the State Office of Risk Management (SORM) to develop the Telematics Universal Policy, which went into effect on November 2, 2020.

Telematics are here to make the State fleet more efficient and keep you safe. The capabilities of telematics allow the State of Colorado to monitor vehicle locations and operations, to ensure that if you are ever in a risky or dangerous situation, we can help.
