Electric vehicles are also provided ChargePoint RFID cards in addition to the traditional fuel card. This article pertains to the fuel card.

Fuel Card Management

  • Request Replacement Card: To request a replacement card for a lost, stolen, or damaged fuel card, email the vehicle's plate, the reason for reissue, name, address, and phone number of where the card is to be mailed to dpa_sfminvoices@state.co.us. Please note, the current fuel card will be marked inactive immediately after replacement is ordered. If the card is still usable, SFM recommends filling the vehicle just before ordering the replacement to minimize the effects of not having a fuel card. Fleet staff verifies all requests with the agency's Fleet Coordinator before ordering fuel cards from the State's vendor. New cards are mailed directly to the appropriate agency, usually within one to three business days.
  • Out of State Travel: Notify SFM at dpa_sfminvoices@state.co.us for any out of state travel. Include the vehicle's plate, destination, and travel dates. Failure to do this may result in a blocked fuel transaction while fueling outside the state.
  • PIN/Driver ID: The Personal Identification Number (PIN), also referred to as Driver ID, is used for security purposes when making a fuel purchase. If you do not know the PIN/Driver ID, contact your Fleet or Vehicle coordinator. Fleet Management, (303) 866-5222 can provide the Fleet Coordinator with the PIN/Driver ID if it is unknown.

Did You Know??

  • Fuel cards can be used to purchase fuel, car washes, and fluids for the vehicle at the gas station. Fluids include windshield washer fluid, DEF, quart or oil, etc.
    • Please note, all items at the gas station must be coded correctly in order to be authorized by the WEX card. It's not uncommon for fluids and other items to be coded as "general merchandise" or another unauthorized purchase item. If you run into this problem, reach out to SFM at dpa_sfminvoices@state.co.us and we can pass on the info to the WEX Merchant Services team who will attempt to have the station rectify the error..
