Making Updates to Speed Limits or Other Road Information

MyGeotab uses a variety of data sets to help users contextualize the data produced by telematics, some of which are owned and stewarded by Geotab itself (e.g. vehicle efficiency benchmark data), some of which are stewarded by State Fleet Management and our users (e.g. asset labeling and assignment data), and some of which are open-source resources maintained by the entire GIS community of private and public professionals (e.g. road mapping and speed limit data).

Please note that as citizen geographers, we are able to participate in the open-source mapping communities as contributors, however we do not have the unilateral ability to modify mapping details. This means any contributions that any user makes (regardless of relative authority) are subject to the same review process within these open-source datasets.

This tutorial video will discuss how to contribute to the public, open-source data sets using two different tools (both of which interact with the same underlying dataset).
