It is proven that the most effective way to charge and maintain the charge of EVs and PHEVs is to charge the vehicle at its dwelling place. Because of this, SFM strongly recommends the primary location for charging the EV/PHEV is the location where the vehicle dwells during its “off time”. This often is the office where the EV/PHEV is assigned, but in some instances, this may be an employee’s home. In those instances where an EV/PHEV is assigned as a take home vehicle, the most efficient solution is for the employee to charge the State vehicle at his/her home. To meet these needs, the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) has developed an EV Home Charging program.
