Requesting or Changing Access to CARS
Modified on: Thu, Feb 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM
There are many reasons you may need to change your access level in CARS. Are you covering for a co-worker? Have you taken on new and/or temporary duties? Have you moved positions within your group and need access to a different Department or Unit?
You can request a new CARS account, a change to your Access Type or a change to the Cabinet/Department/Unit (CDU) to which you have access for your existing CARS account by selecting CARS Access as the type when submitting a ticket.
In the event you have trouble determining which selections you should make, detailed descriptions are referenced below:
Access Types:
New CARS Account - This is for new users who have never had a CARS account.
Change Access and/or CDU - This is for existing CARS users who change access level and or CDU. This option will overwrite your existing profile with your newly selected options. Please be sure to include your CARS UserID in the requested field. If you can’t remember your User ID, state that and we may be in contact with you to help determine it.
Add additional CDU - This is for existing CARS users who are only adding an additional CDU to their existing access. Please be sure to include your CARS UserID in the requested field. If you can’t remember your User ID, state that and we may be in contact with you to help determine it.
Access Levels:
Odometer Entry - This is for CARS users who need to view reports and enter odometers.
Create Work Orders - This is for CARS users who need to view reports, enter odometers, and create work orders and/or invoices for a State GEM garage. **Please note that the phone number for the Garage must be entered in the Phone number field.
Read/View Only - This is for CARS users who need to view reports.
Mirror Existing User - This option is ideal if you are replacing someone or becoming his/her backup and need the same access to the same CDUs and access level. We will assign your account the same access as the account specified.
