Training and Skill Development Opportunities

Within the Geotab database, click on Getting Started & Help on the left hand Navigation Menu to find the following available options:

• Review and search the Product Guide

• Connect to the Geotab Community to search the Knowledge Base

• Read through the Geotab Blog

• Review the latest version release notes

Geotab has a specific Implementation Team that has an understanding of Colorado’s database setup. Each State user is allowed two training sessions directly from this team.  Feel free to schedule training with a Geotab Implementation Specialist from this team.  Please note that before any training sessions can be booked the user must have a Geotab account. For more information on getting a new Geotab account setup, please visit Geotab - New User Account.

Geotab’s website, www.geotab.com has a variety of training materials. Please be aware that this URL will not allow users to access their accounts on the Colorado State Fleet database. Visit their Resources tab for white papers, success stories, training (live webinar and how-to videos), the Geotab blog or to review Geotab news or announcements. From the Support tab, you can search the Support Knowledge Base, find Support Documentation, review a Product Guide, or pose a question to the Geotab Community.

There is a Geotab channel on YouTube. Feel free to look through their profile for How-To Videos, Presentations, and recorded trainings from their annual conferences.

Disclosure: Although all of the training materials are available to every user, actual functionality in the system is dependent on the user’s level of access.

Geotab Support Options

Geotab works with its reseller partner Sawatch Labs to provide support for MyGeotab, Geotab Drive, and Geotab devices.  Brandon Hadden is the Sawatch Labs Customer Success Lead who will be directly supporting the State of Colorado with any Geotab-related issues that arise.  The most efficient way to contact Brandon is though email at hadden@sawatchlabs.com.  Please include in the email the device serial number, the associated cellular number if available (Sprint devices will have an associated cell number in the comments field and can be found by clicking on the information button next to the vehicle in The Vehicle section of Geotab), and any other available details on the issue.

The State of Colorado will have telematics devices supported by service through a combination of Sprint/T-mobile and Geotab.  Please note that regardless of the service provider, support for all devices will be handled through the process described here.

If the need to escalate the issue arises, please forward the information from your initial email with Brandon to State Fleet Management at dpa_sfmtraining_support@state.co.us with information of the actions, in any, that had been taken so far.
