ATTENTION: The MyGeotab Navigation Menu and User Interface will be updated for all State of Colorado Fleet users! This new menu may reorganize menu items and screens in ways that may be unfamiliar. We encourage you to use the “Search” bar at the top of the new navigation menu format.

Zone

A zone is a virtual perimeter or geofence around a geographical real-world area. A zone can demarcate an area and record data around areas of interest such as offices, customers, vehicle yards, charging stations, and homes. Once a zone has been added to the database, either individually or as a bulk import, users can isolate and review data related to different zone types by pulling that information in reports.

The zone name is limited to 40 characters or less

Zone Type

A zone type is a category for a zone. The zone type is one of the most helpful features of zones because it allows the zone to be put into a category that is useful in reporting. Some examples of zone types are customer, charging, office, or home zones. Before adding a zone, identify which zone type you want to use; if it does not already exist, use the following instructions to create it. Custom zones can also be added to fit any need in reporting.

Geotab users with the appropriate access have the ability to add a Zone Type and one or more Zones to the database (typically the primary Fleet Coordinator).  The following training materials will guide you through the process.
